Hiring a Cold Caller From Egypt: Hours, Pay, Paperwork and Process (2026)

The practical side of hiring a cold caller in Egypt for a US team: shift hours in Cairo, the weekend, pay, how to pay them, the paperwork and how to test them.

US real estate investors already hire callers in Egypt: a Houston investor, for example, posted a cold caller opening on Wuzzuf (the listing), and DealMachine has profiled a large Egyptian call center working for US investors. This guide covers the practical side of hiring one caller directly: hours, the weekend, pay, paying them, paperwork and testing. Why teams look at Egypt at all is in why US real estate teams hire from Egypt.

Hours: your day is their evening

Egypt runs on UTC+2, and on summer time (UTC+3) from 24 April to 29 October 2026 (timeanddate.com). With US daylight saving from 8 March to 1 November, Cairo is 7 hours ahead of New York for most of the year, and 6 hours ahead from 8 March to 23 April and on 30 and 31 October. A 9am–5pm shift in each US time zone, in Cairo, most of the year:

Your time zoneShift in Cairo
Eastern4pm to midnight
Central5pm to 1am
Mountain6pm to 2am
Pacific7pm to 3am

A Pacific team can still hire on Eastern hours: that shift covers your morning, 6am to 2pm Pacific, as long as the dialer only calls each seller between 8am and 9pm in the seller's own time zone.

The weekend and holidays

Egypt's official weekend is Friday and Saturday, so a Monday-to-Friday US schedule means working on a Friday evening in Cairo. Agree the working days before the offer, and ask how the candidate plans to work during Ramadan and the two Eid holidays; our Ramadan guide covers how remote workers plan for it.

Setup: power and internet

One lead manager posting for an Egypt-based seat asks for "reliable high-speed internet and consistent electricity" and a quiet remote work environment (Qureos, since closed). Ask the candidate what they'd do if the power or the connection dropped mid-shift. A good answer names a backup: a UPS for the router, a second connection on mobile data, or both.

Pay, and how to pay

Hire Now's guidance for full-time real estate seats in Egypt, not a measured market average:

You agree the pay and the bonus with the person and pay them directly, for example by Wise, Payoneer or bank transfer (what people in Egypt use). Hire Now never handles wages. Say in the offer which currency you pay in.

Paperwork

The IRS's Form W-8BEN is the form a foreign individual gives a US payer to certify they're a foreign person, and it stays with you rather than going to the IRS. Put the hours, pay, bonus rules, notice and confidentiality in a written agreement. This is general information, not tax or legal advice: your accountant and lawyer can confirm what applies to your business.

Testing the caller

Test the same things you would anywhere: the opener, the four pillars, the reflexes and knowing when to stop (what to test), then a 30-minute interview on your script. Listen for being easy to understand at phone speed rather than for an accent: our post on accents explains what our interview listens for.

Through Hire Now

  • Every candidate has done a skills interview built from real seller calls; you see the scores and hear a voice intro first.
  • Our team checks each candidate's phone and a short video before listing, and their ID before you get their contact details.
  • You pay EGP 5,000 (about $100) once per hire, nothing on wages, and hire and pay the person directly.
  • If the hire isn't a fit within 14 working days, we find a replacement at no extra cost.

Common questions

What hours does a caller in Egypt work for a US team?
Cairo is 7 hours ahead of New York for most of 2026 (6 hours from 8 March to 23 April and on 30 and 31 October), so 9am–5pm Eastern is 4pm to midnight in Cairo. A Pacific team can instead hire on Eastern hours, which is 6am to 2pm Pacific.
What is the weekend in Egypt?
Egypt's official weekend is Friday and Saturday. A Monday-to-Friday US schedule means a Friday-evening shift in Cairo, so agree the working days before the offer.
How do I pay a remote caller in Egypt?
Directly, in the way you agree with them, for example by Wise, Payoneer or bank transfer. Through Hire Now you pay EGP 5,000 (about $100) once per hire and nothing on wages; we never handle the salary.
What paperwork goes with paying a contractor in Egypt?
The IRS's Form W-8BEN is the form a foreign individual gives a US payer to certify they're a foreign person; it stays with you rather than going to the IRS. Ask your accountant what else applies to your business.

Hear them before you hire
